Abstract:
Migration, although a phenomenon viewed negatively by many countries, is a driver of development in developing nations. This article thus focuses on studying the contribution of migrant remittances to the development of the rural commune of Allakaye. A mixed-methods approach, predominantly qualitative, was used for data collection in the field. The results of the fieldwork indicate that the funds sent by migrants contribute to the development of the rural commune of Allakaye through investments in education, food, and household economics.
